The Robobat is back !

Last week at the R-Zinc conference organized in Brussels by the great team of Everzinc, we brought back our star : the Robobat !

We initially built it in 2017 for the Défi Descartes program funded by the DGA (French Directorate General of Armaments) and managed by the ANR (French National Agency for Research). Originally, we developped a bipolar Nickel-Zinc battery and implemented it in collaboration with the CEA Liten. Our robot faced two opponents, each carrying a different battery (Li-ion and No-ion) during a contest in May 2017 in Bourges. The final results were very close, and it was a first successful demonstration of our Ni-Zn bipolar technology.

This time however, we demonstrated our robot with a Ni-Zn prismatic battery. It was definitely the star of the show ! Robust, powerful, safe and enduring, it showed once again the great potential of Ni-Zn batteries !
